Young people finishing their secondary cycle, students, new graduates, job seekers and their parents will be able to discover the wide range of professional opportunities offered by the financial sector in Mauritius, during a Job and Education Fair, this Saturday, July 2. This event, organized by Mauritius Finance in collaboration with the Ministry of Services Finance and Good Governance, will be held at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Tower in the cybercity of Ebene from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The fair will welcome nearly twenty employers from financial services sector including Vistra Mauritius, Axis Fiduciary Ltd, IQ-EQ Global Business Ltd, Sanne Mauritius, Intercontinental Trust Ltd, APEX Fund Services Ltd, Ocorian, Trident Trust Ltd, TrustQore (Mauritius) Ltd, Rogers Capital, DTOS Ltd, BTG Management Services (Mauritius) Ltd, BCP Bank (Mauritius) Ltd, Matco Ltd Sovereign Trust Ltd, among others. “We wanted to bring together a large number of operators to allow them to go to the meeting their future employees by offering them a precise idea of all the opportunities jobs that already exist. From now on 300 jobs are available for those who start in the sector but also for young professionals who already have a minimum of experience”, explains Samade Jhummun, CEO of Mauritius Finance. Several operators present at the show will conduct job interviews for jobs to be filled with immediate effect. Those who will soon graduate will also have the opportunity to be recruited undergraduate Programs offered by the companies. So that others will collect the CVs of job seekers in order to study the possibility of their offer a paid internship under the Human Resources National Training and Reskilling Scheme Development Council. A permanent job will also be offered to trainees who have particularly shone during their stay in the company. The financial services industry currently employs 20,000 professionals. According to estimates by Mauritius Finance, 2,000 other jobs are available by 2023 in this industry that stands out from the others for its high level of remuneration and the speed with which its professionals rise through the ranks within their companies. The Job and Education Fair will also be an opportunity to demystify the financial services sector in the eyes of visitors. “Many young people think that only people with degrees in finance or certifications in accounting can make careers in services financial. This is not the case. The sector needs dynamic, rigorous and willing young people to learn. Visitors to the show will discover a large number of opportunities for careers of which they do not suspect the existence and which are, in many cases, also open to holders of an HSC,” assures Shahed Hoolash, Chairperson of Mauritius Finance. Through this fair, Mauritius Finance also wishes to highlight universities and training institutions that issue diplomas and certifications highly sought after by financial sector companies. The London College of Accountancy, Panthéon Assas Paris II University, Mascarene University, Curtin Mauritius, Financial Services Institute, Mauritius Finance Training Institution, Financial Services Fund as well as the HRDC will offer visitors an overview of their specialised training. Mauritius Finance will also allow those who want to pursue a career in the financial sector to discover the wide range of certifications and professional development programs that it delivers in collaboration with renowned international institutions such as ICA, CLTI, CISI, STEP and Alliance Manchester Business School. These programs allow those who follow to acquire skills in Anti Money Laundering, Compliance, International Trust Management, Fund Accounting and Administration among others.
