Women in Tech Africa Mauritius Chapter announces the winners of the 4th Edition of the WiTAfrica Awards

The Women in Tech Africa, Mauritius Chapter is proud to announce the winners of the much anticipated 4th edition of the WiTAfrica Awards. This annual event celebrates and recognizes outstanding women in the technology industry, as well as initiatives and organizations that are leading the way in advancing gender equality in tech.

The WiTAfrica Awards aims to celebrate the remarkable women who innovate, inspire, and transform the technology sector. The winners in each category were shortlisted for the WiTAfrica Awards ceremony, which was held on October 25 at The Docks, the annual conference of Women in Tech Week 2023.

Commenting on the Awards, Sameera Chattun Koyratty, Chief Executive Officer of Safe Sha Training Centre said: “As women achieve power, the barriers will fall. As society sees what women can do, as women see what women can do, there will be more women out there doing things, and we’ll all be better off for it. The Women in Tech Africa, Mauritius Chapter is excited to bring together the brightest minds and leaders in the technology industry during Women in Tech Week 2023 to support female leadership, create a pipeline for girls in technology, and encourage female entrepreneurship.
The theme for this year’s Women in Tech Week is “Unlock the technology for tomorrow.” The event will feature tech leaders, engineers, product managers, and individuals from diverse backgrounds working in technology-driven businesses. It will provide a platform for exchanging experiences, learning new skills, and networking with peers.

Women in Tech Africa, Mauritius Chapter, is part of Africa’s largest women in tech group with members across 30 African countries and the diaspora. Founded by Ethel Cofie, Women in Tech Africa is dedicated to creating female leaders, showcasing the capabilities of African women in technology, and supporting African growth through technology. The organization offers programming for children pursuing STEM careers, training for female entrepreneurs, and networking opportunities for women in tech. Women in Tech Week is the flagship event of the organization, celebrating success and impact through leadership training, peer learning, and workshops.
