Anahita partners with Peach Payments to simplify payments for guests

Ebene, 20 February 2024 – Leading pan-African payment solution provider Peach Payments and Mauritian real estate major Anahita have announced a new partnership to facilitate bookings made at home and abroad.

“Anahita Golf & Spa resort has entered into a significant partnership with Peach Payments to facilitate and simplify payments for our guests booking the resort and its facilities. We have been on the lookout for a stable and secure payments partner, and Peach Payments came highly recommended. After several meetings with their leadership team, we finalised the collaboration and look forward to working closely towards our common goals of a 5 star experience for our customers, starting with making a reservation and completing the payment,” says Dhiren Pereira, Chief Operating Officer, Anahita Estates Limited.

Earlier, clients seeking to stay at Anahita would need to complete the payment process by sending an email to the reservations team with a credit card authorisation form. This cumbersome and time-consuming process also introduced the risk of manual errors. Now, however, visitors can pay directly by credit, debit or prepaid cards using a link generated by Anahita’s reservation team on the Peach Payments platform, and shared via email, WhatsApp or SMS. Peach Payments then facilitates the payment through the interbank systems internationally, and Anahita receives payment in its account from the guest.

Dhiren explains that the process is ‘zero hassle for the customer and also less time consuming for the Anahita team‘, as it automates an erstwhile manual process. He notes that this process has already been rolled out over email, and the next step – website integration by the resort’s banking partner – is already under way. Thus, the Anahita website too will soon offer an option to pay by credit cards using Peach Payments’ online payment platform.

Powering the tourism sector in Mauritius

At a broader level, this partnership has strategic implications for tourists visiting the island economy, who can now make hassle-free payments from any corner of the world on a secure platform. This, in turn, is expected to encourage more tourists to visit the island paradise, which is finally on track to overcome post-COVID blues. 

Indeed, in 2023, more than 1.29 million tourists visited Mauritius, according to the latest figures released by Statistics Mauritius. This compares well with the situation just a year ago, with 2022 having witnessed less than a million tourists visiting the island economy – 997,290 to be exact. In 2024, the island economy expects a return to pre-COVID levels, akin to the 1.38 million tourists who visited Mauritius in 2019.

As such, powering payments in the tourism sector, which contributes as much as 8% of the GDP in Mauritius,* is a key priority at Peach Payments.
