- With your commitment to international diversity, are there any specific programmes or curriculum adaptations tailored to cater to the academic needs and aspirations of Mauritian students?
Yes, the Mauritius Education System is very much in sync with the Indian Education System. At VIGNAN University, we nurture the Mauritian students to tune to their country’s trade and commerce, which is rich in imports and exports. These skills are instilled in the Mauritian students through 4 years full time programs in Agriculture, Biomedical, Biotechnology, Textile Technology, Food technology, Artificial Intelligence and Data Science. This will ensure that these Mauritian students can groom themselves with the flexible curriculum in a holistic manner, that will enhance the students’ skills to be the future entrepreneurs that boosts the economy of Mauritius and enhances the social status of the students’ and their families.
- Does VIGNAN’S foundation for Science, Technology and Research currently have any active collaborations with educational institutions in Mauritius? If so, how do these collaborations benefit students from both countries?
Actively not. However, we have plans to establish MoUs with the Industry and Universities, in Research and Development, as Vignan University is a pure Research University, which will create a gateway for faculty and student exchange programs, thereby developing and exchanging knowledge pool between the countries, for mutual growth of economy, trade and commerce.
- Recognising the financial challenges of international education, can you elaborate on any scholarship programmes or financial aid options specifically available for Mauritian students seeking admission to VIGNAN?
VIGNAN’S foundation for Science, Technology and Research offers 100% scholarship exclusively for Mauritian students. There is no limit on the same and will be offered to all prospective and needful students, to promote and offer education to the deserved.
- How does the institute specifically support international students, with focus on those from Mauritius, employment opportunities?
VIGNAN’S foundation for Science, Technology and Research offers extensive training for more than 200 hrs within the course duration to improve student’s Technical, Non-Technical & Soft Skills along with Communication Skills. VIGNAN’S foundation for Science, Technology and Research also offers Globally recognised Cambridge English Course. Vignan University also caters to students’ projects that address societal concerns, which develops the social and emotional quotient among students/NextGen community, which marks the first step towards a changed economy.
- Beyond academic programmes, are there specific research projects or initiatives available for international students, like those from Mauritius, to participate in and contribute to the institute’s research efforts?
Yes. At Vignan University, students are entertained and encouraged along with faculty champions to publish research papers in reputed global journals such as Scopus and SCI. The students are made to spend most of the time in the Institute Academic and Research laboratories, as we strongly believe that the effective learning of any given concept is only through practical oriented learning. Theoretical learning is only of a value, if tagged with experiential learning, which is the key focus at Vignan University. Our students in the past have published an average of 2-3 papers per student, which is a major milestone in a students’ profile.
