International Women’s Day
In a world where challenges often overshadow victories, there arose a day dedicated to celebrating the strength and resilience of women, International Women’s Day (IWD).
International Women’s Day serves as a guiding light to honor the struggles and for celebrating women’s achievements in society, politics, and economics, and for promoting gender equality, even though every day is our day!
IWD traces its roots back to 1908, when thousands of women marched in New York City demanding better working conditions and the right to vote. This pivotal moment ignited a global movement, leading to the official celebration of IWD in 1911 on the March 8.
Imagine a young girl, inspired by pioneering women who defied the odds, dreaming of a future where she too can make a difference. As she grows, she witnesses the resilience of women facing adversity, their strength shining through even in the darkest of times.
On Women’s Day, she joins hands with women worldwide, celebrating their achievements and honoring their struggles. Reflecting on the progress made, she cherishes and wishes that every woman is empowered, respected, and valued.
Talking about movements like #MeToo can sometimes make us feel weaker in the eyes of the world. However, showing our vulnerability can demonstrate our strength and resilience. It’s important to showcase that women are strong and courageous, capable of facing any challenge.
Studies have consistently shown that women excel at multitasking, balancing diverse professional and personal responsibilities with remarkable efficiency. They are adept at navigating complex situations and possess an innate capacity for empathy and collaboration.
Indeed, we have made a long journey and my personal take and believe is that women should now focus on breaking barriers and moving forward, rather than entering the race for gender equality, as I don’t see a need of it. it’s important to consider that the pursuit of gender equality is not a race but a fundamental aspect of ensuring fairness and justice for all individuals, not only women.
Through generations of struggle and perseverance, women have carved their own path. They have earned their rightful place in society and It’s time to join hands with our counterparts to make the world a better place.
I was deeply inspired by a poem (The veil of freedom) about women that highlighted our strength and accomplishments, emphasizing the significant role women play in shaping history. Each verse resonated with me, reminding me of the countless women who have shaped history and continue to inspire us today. We are no less!
Let’s stop the battle for being ahead and focus on how we can help other women in society to come forward, fight their fears, and be bold in starting their own journeys, personally and professionally. We need to strengthen our roots and celebrate our achievements.
This Women’s Day let’s take an oath to be ourselves and strive for self-improvement. Here’s to a future where every woman and girl can live with dignity, freedom, desire, and opportunity. Happy International Women’s Day to all wonderful women across the globe!
