What inspired you to become an entrepreneur? How would you describe your journey to date?
It was always an unconscious dream which in my opinion, life turned into reality when the time came. I believed I could do more and always go beyond what “the job description” required. It was my desire and passion to do more and surpass conventional limitations, and I had this mindset that thrives on challenges and opportunities for growth. I was to seek ventures where I could fully leverage my skills and make a significant impact, irrespective of age or experience.
Tell us about your company H2H Events? What services do you offer?
H2H Events Ltd offers two main services:
1: Event Management – We create lifetime experience through corporate events such as conferences, team building, gala dinners, product launch, breakfast meetings, etc and Live events such as concerts, family fairs amongst others.
2: Digital Marketing – you one-stop shop for all your digital marketing services: Website creation, social media management and. content creation.
How do you see the opportunities and challenges in your sector? Are you interesting in expanding into other countries?
In the realm of digital marketing, our current client base extends beyond borders, as the nature of our services transcends geographical limitations. Continuously striving to expand our international reach, we actively seek out new clients from diverse corners of the globe. Leveraging our established network in various countries, our event management services remain highly competitive, enabling us to orchestrate successful events regardless of our physical presence in the client’s locale. While we presently cater to foreign clients hosting events on the island, our sights are set on broader horizons. Venturing beyond our island base, we aspire to extend our event planning expertise to new territories, facilitating memorable experiences worldwide.
You were recently part of the Mauritian delegation of women entrepreneurs to the WTO-ITC High Level Event on Women in Trade in Abu Dhabi. What were your key takeaways from this event?
In today’s interconnected world (globalisation), the support network for women entrepreneurs spans far and wide, offering a wealth of resources and guidance to nurture growth and success. From online communities to local meetups, there’s a vast ecosystem of fellow female entrepreneurs eager to lend a helping hand and share valuable insights. In this global marketplace, opportunities abound, transcending geographical boundaries and cultural barriers. The only limits that exist are those we impose upon ourselves, whether through self-doubt or fear of failure. By embracing the boundless potential of the digital age and tapping into the collective wisdom of our peers, we can shatter these self-imposed limitations and unlock new realms of possibility. With determination, collaboration, and a supportive community by our side, the sky’s the limit for women entrepreneurs striving to make their mark on the world stage.
You are also the Founder of the Women Entrepreneur Awards, which was a great success in its augural edition last year. Will it be back for 2024?
The success of WEA 2023 stands as a testament to the unwavering support of our sponsors, collaborators, and the incredible community of female entrepreneurs who rallied behind our cause. Their dedication and generosity fuelled every aspect of the event, turning vision into reality and empowering women on the national level. While we received interest from abroad, we were not ready for same for our first edition. Reflecting on the beautiful outpouring of support we received last year fills us with gratitude, and we are optimistic that this year will bring even greater momentum and enthusiasm. With deep humility, I am thrilled to announce the forthcoming launch of WEA 2024, an event that promises to be even more impactful and inspiring than before.
