Medine Group recently hosted an award ceremony in honor of employees who participated in the Medine Ignite and Women in Leadership (WIL) programs. Launched in May 2024, these initiatives took place over several months and demonstrate the Group’s commitment to cultivating talent, promoting innovation, diversity, and inclusion within the organization.
During the event, Medine Group’s Chief Executive Officer, Dhiren Ponnusamy, emphasized the importance of these programs, which highlight the company’s core values. He stated: “At Medine, we firmly believe in investing in our employees to cultivate a culture of growth, innovation, and inclusion. Through initiatives like Medine Ignite and Women in Leadership, we empower everyone to create lasting and meaningful positive change within our organization and the communities we serve.”
The Medine Ignite program allowed young leaders at Medine to develop innovative ideas. Participants worked diligently for months on projects such as the West App and the Planters Platform, which, once launched, are expected to have a significant impact in the western region of the island. They received guidance from experts and had the opportunity to present their projects to a panel, showcasing their intrapreneurial skills, one of the Group’s core values.
The Women in Leadership program trained 20 women from various departments and business units, focusing on enhancing leadership skills and fostering a culture of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). The WIL program encouraged collaboration and allowed the participants to realize projects that aligned with their deeper aspirations. Achievements from the program include the development of the DEI Code of Conduct and the establishment of a Concierge Service to support working parents.
At the ceremony, Medine reaffirmed its commitment to supporting employees in their professional development and promoting a culture based on its values. The event celebrated not only the hard work and success of the participants but also Medine Group’s broader vision of “Create Positive.” Employees are encouraged to continue being ambassadors of positive change within and beyond the company.
