The Lux Collective recently celebrated a major milestone in its leadership development journey with a certification ceremony held for its 125 participants of the annual Leadership Competencies Development Programme (Level 1&2). The rigorous curriculum marked a powerful time of growth and unity for team members from all six properties in Mauritius.
The Leadership Competencies Development Programme is designed to support team members in developing essential skills to lead themselves, others, and their operations effectively. With a practical, real-world approach, the programme covers themes such as emotional intelligence, communication, planning, financial acumen, and conflict resolution — ensuring that learning is both relevant and applicable to everyday challenges. Delivered over 12 weeks with eight key modules, it aims to build leadership capabilities.
“This curated programme is about turning everyday moments into leadership practice. The energy, openness and commitment from our team members was truly inspiring and it will shape how we continue to grow this programme,” said Smita Modak, Group Head of Learning and Development and Talent Management. Participation was strong and diverse, with team members from LUX* Belle Mare, LUX* Grand Baie, LUX* Grand Gaube, LUX* Le Morne, SALT of Palmar and Tamassa Bel Ombre. From aspiring supervisors to seasoned department leaders, the programme inspires team members at different career stages to sharpen their leadership mindset and practical capabilities. Notably, 40% of participants were women, reflecting the Group’s focus on women empowerment.

“This programme further strengthens the people who bring our service culture to life. Seeing our team members embrace learning with such enthusiasm reminds us that leadership isn’t just a role — it’s how we create meaningful experiences for our people and guests, while upholding the spirit of who we are,” said Nicolas Autrey, Chief People and Culture Officer.
“At The Lux Collective, we believe in lifelong learning and this annual leadership initiative reflects our commitment to growing talent from within. I am incredibly proud of the 125 team members who stepped up with curiosity and the courage to lead. They are proof that when we invest in learning, we grow our next generation of leaders — from the inside out,” said Olivier Chavy, Chief Executive Officer of The Lux Collective.

The programme was guided by participants’ feedback, with strong ratings across all modules. Team members appreciated the hands-on, relatable style of facilitation, and many shared how the learning helped shift their approach on communication, decision-making and team support. As the Group continues to expand its footprint globally, internal capability building remains a cornerstone of The Lux Collective’s long-term people strategy — building leaders who inspire, deliver and thrive.
