Port Louis/Bangalore/Dhaka/Antananarivo, July 31, 2025: CIEL Textile has published its third sustainability report, covering the period from July 2022 to June 2024. The report themed, ‘Winning Well, Altogether’ outlines the Group’s progress toward a more ethical, inclusive, and environmentally responsible textile industry, in line with THE evolving expectations from clients and partners. Having more than 22,000 employees across 19 sites in Mauritius, Madagascar, India, and Bangladesh, CIEL Textile reports measurable achievements across its sustainability priorities.
The CEO of CIEL Textile, Eric Dorchies, commented: “This report reflects the collective drive behind our ambition to build a more responsible, human, and sustainable industry, together with our teams, partners, clients, and the communities around us. ‘Winning Well, Altogether’ expresses our commitment to moving forward without compromising our values. We have phased out coal, expanded renewable energy use, and created opportunities for young people, women, and people with disabilities. None of this has been achieved in isolation. What stands out to me is the strength of the collective. Thanks to our employees’ engagement, we are ready to face today’s challenges and help shape the textile industry of tomorrow.
Key Highlights of the report:
A stronger focus on circular economy
Seven factories have achieved zero waste to landfill. Projects such as manufacturing paper ribbons from fabric offcuts and producing handcrafted rugs demonstrate our commitment to innovation and local engagement.
A responsible supply chain
All CIEL Textile suppliers are now subject to verified sustainability assessments, with annual reviews covering social and environmental standards to ensure transparency and traceability.

Promoting inclusion across operations
CIEL Textile is taking concrete actions to promote the inclusion of people with disabilities through specific workplace adaptations, tailored training, and a genuinely inclusive company culture, particularly in Madagascar and India. These initiatives have fostered a respectful and caring work environment, as acknowledged by employees themselves.
Toward more balanced leadership with a 35% target
Through the Go Beyond Gender program, the number of women in management has increased from 15 percent in 2022 to 18 percent, where the Group has set a target of 35 percent to be achieved by 2030, in partnership with HEC Paris, IIM Bangalore, and Stellenbosch University to support this ongoing process.
Company culture and employee engagement
More than 16,000 employees took part in the latest Great Place to Work® survey, recording an 87 percent positive rating. The survey results highlight a strong culture of trust, fairness, and collaboration, driving concrete action plans across all levels of the Group.
Concrete social impact with over 1,000 community projects delivered since 2015
Through its Act for Our Community and Act for Our Environment programs, CIEL Textile has carried out more than 1,000 projects since 2015, directly benefiting over 100,000 people.
