Nespresso offered coffee enthusiasts an immersive journey pouring into the world of coffee at the first-ever Mauritius Coffee Festival, held at Vivéa Business Park in Moka on August 30-31. Locally represented by Scott & Co. Ltd, Nespresso’s participation in this landmark event aimed to provide a sensory experience that brews on the richness, creativity, and evolving trends surrounding the coffee culture.

Nespresso offered participants a wide array of tastings at its stand-out booth, ranging from hot and iced coffee to innovative mocktail versions, highlighting the versatility of its expertise. Marichi Moothoosamy, Sales Coffee Specialist at Nespresso Mauritius, also participated in the “Art of the Pour” competition, a local latte art battle where coffee specialists showcased their skills in turning coffee creations into stunningly aesthetic works of art.
This competition gave Marichi the opportunity to proudly represent Nespresso and share her passion for coffee with an audience composed of true connoisseurs. By drawing on the finest selections from the brand’s wide portfolio, she crafted exquisite, flavorful creations — turning her performance into a genuine masterclass.

Local Representative of the brand at Scott & Co. Ltd, Luigi Peccini, shared his thoughts on Nespresso’s involvement in this inaugural event: “We are thrilled to have met so many coffee enthusiasts at the festival. It was a privilege to present the entire Nespresso journey, from passionate small-scale producers in the world’s most renowned coffee regions all the way to the customers’ cup. This allowed participants to gain deeper insight into the brand, its philosophy, and the values it proudly upholds. Congrats to everyone involved in this first edition!”

Nespresso’s presence at the Mauritius Coffee Festival served as a great opportunity to present the brand’s deep commitment to sustainability. Through a range of concrete initiatives, Nespresso actively champions the circular economy, addressing both upstream and downstream environmental impacts. A key highlight of the event was the spotlight on Nespresso’s recycling program, which was emphasised through collaborations with local artisans engaged in the circular economy.
Partners such as Farm Basket, Essentia, and Bronze Brothers displayed how Nespresso’s commitment to sustainability has been integrated into local practices. The success of this unique event prompted the organisers to express their appreciation for Nespresso’s support: “The response for this first edition of the Mauritius Coffee Festival has been incredible, and we are delighted to see so many people discovering various aspects of coffee culture.
Nespresso’s involvement, both as a participant and sponsor, has given us the credibility we needed. It is incredibly rewarding to see the vibrant community we have built around coffee culture, especially with such a prestigious international brand on board. Nespresso’s deep knowledge of their products and their commitment to sustainability through their recycling efforts have greatly enhanced the experience for all attendees,” shared co-founder of the Mauritius Coffee Festival, Keshmi Gopal.
