Cascavelle Shopping Mall establishes itself as the leading retail destination in the West with an extension that triples its capacity

The extension of Cascavelle Shopping Mall officially opens on 25 November 2025, marking a major step forward for the shopping and lifestyle experience in the West. This strategic expansion is a decisive milestone in the development of the Medine Smart City and confirms the mall’s position as a must-visit destination in the region.

Thanks to this extension, the mall’s total surface area now reaches 30,000 m², three times its original size. This makes it possible to accommodate more than 150 outlets in the long term, including around thirty dedicated to food and beverage. Winner’s has also been significantly enlarged to improve comfort and ensure a smoother customer journey.

The extension also introduces new leisure spaces, including Legends Park, a 2,000 m² family park, as well as an enhanced offer in fashion, home, wellness and gastronomy. Several kiosks dedicated to local entrepreneurs further enrich the setting, reflecting Medine’s continued support for the dynamism of the Mauritian economy.

To strengthen accessibility, parking capacity has been increased from 560 to 1,263 spaces, part of which are covered. This development is aligned with the upcoming opening of the Flic-en-Flac Bypass, which will help ease traffic flows in the region and further connect the mall to the rest of the island.

This new phase forms part of the broader vision of the Medine Smart City and the territorial brand “The West”, dedicated to creating an environment where living, working, education, leisure and nature coexist in harmony. The new outlets will gradually bring the mall to life over the next development phases, supporting the progressive rise of this commercial hub.

“Our ambition is not about ‘always more’ but about ‘better’. The new Cascavelle Shopping Mall perfectly illustrates this philosophy: offering more fluidity, more comfort and more peace of mind. We want to create living spaces that reduce the constraints of everyday life, where you move better, breathe better and live better. This extension is part of our vision of an integrated, inclusive and sustainable Smart City, where every development contributes to improving the quality of life of the West’s community,” says Joël Bruneau, Managing Director, Property – Medine Group.

“The opening of this extension marks an important milestone for Cascavelle Shopping Mall. We have redesigned the spaces to offer a more comfortable, smoother and more diverse experience. This new layout allows us to progressively welcome new brands and strengthen the mall’s vibrancy in the coming months. Our goal is simple: to offer a friendly, warm and lively place where every visit becomes an enjoyable moment,” explains Valérie Tallavignes, Centre Manager – Cascavelle Shopping Mall.

With this extension, Cascavelle Shopping Mall confirms its role as a driving force behind the development of the West and offers its visitors a welcoming, accessible and constantly evolving environment at the heart of the Medine Smart City.

In line with its purpose, “Create Positive”, Medine has always been able to harness innovation and change.
