Campus Abroad, Mauritius’s premier educational consultancy, confirms the resounding success of its Annual International Study Fair, which concluded on 23 November at the Hennessy Hotel in Ebene.
The event commenced with an impactful Inaugural Function on 21 November at the Royal Green, Moka. The prestigious opening ceremony was led by the Chief Guest, the Minister of Tertiary Education, Hon. Kaviraj Sukon, who, alongside other distinguished speakers, addressed the attendees. Minister Sukon focused on the necessity of practical skills for the job market, stating that while all universities teach core theory, “what you do with it is important, how applying to solve problem is important.”
Director Rajeswari Jayasankar welcomed the dignitaries, stating: “We are deeply honoured by the presence of the Honourable Minister of Education, whose support and vision for education continue to inspire institutions and families alike.” She emphasised the critical collaboration of key partners present, noting: “Your guidance and collaboration gives strength to initiatives like these.”
The addresses from key international partners further cemented the fair’s global significance. Australian High Commissioner Kate Chamley began her address by stating: “It’s a celebration of opportunity and of the enduring partnership between Australia and Mauritius in the field of education.” She highlighted Australia’s popularity, attributing it to high-quality education, a strong focus on research, a well-being multicultural society, and the chance to live in one of the most beautiful and diverse countries, noting that education is about the “high quality of life.”

Concurrently, the representative of the UK High Commission, Ms. Kate Thompson celebrated the strong UK-Mauritius educational partnership, visible through the presence of 17 UK universities at the fair, positioning the UK as offering academic excellence and global recognition. Concurrently, the representative of the US Embassy, Mr. Craig Halbmaier, affirmed that “The United States is open for study,” highlighting its status as the world’s number one destination. The US representative noted that the country’s institutions award over $10 billion in merit-based financial aid annually, directing students to the Education USA organisation for comprehensive advice.
The two-day fair (22 and 23 November) successfully delivered on its promise to bridge local ambition with global opportunity. Hosting high-calibre representatives from world-class universities across thirteen countries—including Australia, the UK, USA, Canada, and France—the event allowed attendees to explore thousands of degree programmes spanning Anglophone, Francophone, and Asian educational models. The exhibition has solidified its status as the region’s most influential educational platform, attracting nearly 700 highly engaged students, young professionals, and parents from Mauritius and the wider region. Students engaged in deep, personalised consultations, showing strong interest not only in traditional fields but also in emerging sectors such as Data Science, AI, and Cybersecurity, reflecting the local talent pool’s alignment with global technological shifts.
Jayasankar Seshadri, Director of Campus Abroad, affirmed the fair’s strategic importance, calling its success a powerful confirmation of the consultancy’s enduring mission to foster global talent mobility. He stated that the event serves as a critical investment in the region’s intellectual capital and the definitive launchpad for local talent. Rajeswari Jayasankar reinforced this vision, asserting: “This fair is more than just an exhibition. It is a bridge connecting aspirations with possibilities, students with ventures and local talents with global pathways.” She underscored Campus Abroad’s proactive support of the national vision to make Mauritius an educational hub, citing the company’s history of facilitating hundreds of students, including a sitting Member of Parliament, and attracting international universities to the local market.
She further elaborated on the core commitment to personalised guidance, noting that the measurable value lay in the confidence and absolute clarity the 700 attendees gained. The one-on-one sessions allowed families to secure actionable roadmaps by discussing highly specific topics like securing competitive scholarships, understanding visa requirements, and comparing detailed course modules directly with delegates. Mrs Jayasankar stressed that ensuring absolute clarity on these critical, often irreversible decisions was the company’s top priority, thereby significantly minimising uncertainty and maximising application success.
The Annual International Study Fair reinforced its role as an indispensable, high-impact event for the educational landscape of the Indian Ocean region. Campus Abroad remains committed to providing free, accessible, and unbiased guidance, setting a new benchmark for educational exhibitions and continuing its dedicated work to connect local ambition with world-class academic opportunities.
