Standard Bank awarded Best Investment Bank 2026 in Mauritius by Global Finance

April 8: Standard Bank (Mauritius) Ltd has been adjudged as the Best Investment Bank 2026 in Mauritius, conferred by the prestigious magazine Global Finance.

The Head of Investment Banking at Standard Bank Mauritius, Niki Quentin, commented, “This recognition reinforces our leadership position as the preferred investment banking partner for our corporate clients. Standard Bank Mauritius has a strong and competitive value proposition of connecting corporates from the Mauritius International Financial Centre to Africa.”

He added, “This award is a powerful endorsement of our deep expertise in the investment banking segment and the strength of our franchise. It reflects the trust our clients place in our specialist capabilities, market insight, and execution excellence, as well as the unwavering commitment of our teams to deliver innovative, high-impact solutions. Coupled with the Group’s extensive footprint in 21 key African markets and 4 global financial centres, the Bank is uniquely positioned to facilitate cross‑border trade, investment, and capital flows. This reach, combined with deep local insight and sector expertise, enables the Group to support sustainable growth – partnering with clients to expand their businesses, strengthen economies and drive inclusive development across the markets it serves.”

“This recognition has also been made possible by our employees who bring our strategy to life and our clients and stakeholders who trust us to achieve their African ambitions,” he further emphasised.

On the other hand, the founder and editorial director of Global Finance, Joseph D. Giarraputo told: “The investment banking sector remains resilient with selective deal-making strength and advisory growth, even as it grapples with persistent macroeconomic headwinds, regulatory scrutiny, and evolving market conditions that are reshaping how firms compete and innovate”.

He added: “The 2026 World’s Best Investment Bank honorees are the organisations that best serve their clients by pairing trusted advice and global reach with innovation and disciplined execution, while setting the standard for excellence, resilience, and leadership across the global investment banking landscape.”

Global Finance editors, relying on inputs from industry experts, used a series of criteria to score and select winners, based on a proprietary algorithm. These criteria include: entries from banks, market share, number and size of deals, service and advice, structuring capabilities, distribution network, efforts to address market conditions, innovation, pricing, after-market performance of underwritings, and market reputation. Deals announced or completed in 2025 were also considered.
