Transforming the Mauritian eCommerce Experience
Founded in 2018 to offer event bookings, Ticketbox.mu has grown into one of the country’s most innovative online platforms. With his platform built on fully native, custom technology, Ajay explains that Peach Payments understood Ticketbox.mu’s unique requirements.
“Peach Payments is the only service provider that could have done what was needed to transform our business and make the critical checkout process seamless for our customers,” he said. “Their deep integration with MCB Juice and the automation of our end-to-end payment flow has been revolutionary for Ticketbox.mu.”
Before the switch to Peach Payments, Ticketbox.mu relied on a direct API integration with MCB. Explains Ajay: “We were spending enormous time manually reconciling the 40–60% of monthly transactions worth MUR 15–20 million done over MCB Juice. Peach Payments has now automated reconciliation so we get all reports within 24 hours and the resultant user experience has given us the stamp of reliability and trust we needed to scale confidently.”
In his words, outsourcing their payments piece to one of Africa’s most trusted payment gateways has allowed Ticketbox.mu to free up valuable time and manpower to focus on business development. Indeed, since collaborating with Peach Payments, Ticketbox.mu has grown its sales revenue exponentially. In 2024, the company generated MUR 120 million in annual turnover. In 2025, the figure had surged to MUR 300 million by November.
Ajay attributes a substantial part of this success to the automation, security, and uptime Peach Payments provides, calling it a real ‘game changer’ for the business. Peach Payments currently supports Ticketbox.mu through transactions via credit cards, debit cards, bank transfers, MCB Juice and blink by Emtel.

With Peach Payments’ presence in 10+ African countries, this partnership also opens the door for Ticketbox.mu to seamlessly expand beyond Mauritius. Ajay unfolds plans for the wider region, while noting that the business has recently added 50 hotels in Reunion island to its hospitality listings.
