We speak with Dr C. Vijayakumar, Director of Ties Global and he shares more information on what Mauritian students can look forward to at the Study Fair. Excerpts:
- Can you elaborate on the specific Indian universities that will be represented at the Study in India Fair? Are there representatives from different regions and specialties?
A total of Ten universities/ Institutions will be represented at the Study in India .
They are deemed to be universities and colleges affiliated to a public university. They represent different states of India. They offer specialties in engineering , Agriculture , Medicine, Dentistry , Para- Medical programs, such as Pharmacy Nursing etc. , Business Management , Accounting and General Science programs.
- Will there be information available about scholarship opportunities for Mauritian students seeking to study in India? If so, which universities or programmes offer these scholarships?
Almost all the participating Universities offer different levels of scholarships. It ranges from 50 % to 100% scholarships.
- Will there be representatives available to provide guidance on the application process for Indian universities? Can they advise on specific requirements for Mauritian students?
All the participating universities/ Institution are represented by a representative from the University/ institution to inform about their programs and offers and guide the Mauritius students on the application and admission process.
- Will there be information available regarding visa requirements for Mauritian students studying in India? Can you clarify the process and necessary documents?
Yes, VISA to a Mauritius student coming to India easy to obtain. An Offer letter to the program from an accredited and University Grant commission recognized institutions will be the main document required for the visa . The student can apply to the Embassy of India with the offer letter from the University in India. The process of getting Visa to study in India is very simple.
- Does Ties Global offer any support services for Mauritian students after they graduate from Indian universities? This could include job placement assistance or career counselling.
TIES GLOBAL is a company that creates a platform for the international students like Mauritius students to directly interact with Indian Institutions without any middleman to get the first hand information about the institutions and its programs and offers of scholarships. Each Institution has a placement cell in their campuses that will help their students.
- Can you share information about housing options available to students studying in India? Does Ties Global provide any assistance with finding suitable accommodation?
Various housing options are available for international students. Housing is not an expensive one even if it is arranged privately by the students. Housing for the Students are also available in Most of the Institutions in India. There are separate hostels for boys’ and girls’ students. That information can be obtained by the prospective students from the institutions during their interaction. As said in the previous question, TIES GLOBAL’s objective is to create such an opportunity for the students.
- Does Ties Global or the participating universities offer any cultural exchange programmes or activities for international students like those from Mauritius? This could include language exchange programmes, cultural immersion trips, or volunteer opportunities within the community.
Participating universities offer several cultural immersion programs, language training, for the international students joining their institutions. Additionally, Indian Council Cultural Relations offers cultural immersion trips across India during the winter and summer vacation times. The Mauritius students can join these trips and benefit.
- Compared to other study abroad destinations, what are some unique advantages and benefits of studying in India specifically for Mauritian students? This could include factors like affordability, cultural similarities, specific academic programs offered, or career opportunities post-graduation.
Study in India Program for Mauritius Students gives them opportunities for studying in Indian Institutions that offer degrees that are globally accepted yet very affordable. The Mauritius students can find a lot of cultural similarities in India, and this helps them to sink with the community quickly. There are cutting edge programs offered by institutions that provide better career opportunities abroad.
