Bank One sponsors second edition of Women Entrepreneur Awards

Bank One is pleased to announce that it will be a sponsor of the second edition of the Women Entrepreneur Awards, which seek to celebrate the contribution of women entrepreneurs to the Mauritian economy.

Following the success of the first edition in 2023, the awards will, once again, recognise the outstanding achievements of women entrepreneurs who have made a significant impact on their industries and communities. This year, the awards will focus on the UN’s theme of “Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress”, with an emphasis on providing selected participants with skills and training to boost their entrepreneurial prospects.

Commenting on Bank One’s support for the Women Entrepreneur Awards, Sendy Thoplan, Head of SME & Business Banking, said:

“Bank One is a proud sponsor of the WEA 2024 as part of its commitment to supporting diversity and the empowerment of women in the business community. The bank will bring valuable resources to the event, including a workshop tailored specifically for participants. This workshop will cover essential topics such as financial literacy, cash flow management, and other key aspects of financial management crucial for running a successful business. The bank’s involvement in the event underscores its dedication to fostering growth and success among women entrepreneurs and equipping them with the tools they need to thrive in their businesses.”

Welcoming Bank One as a sponsor, Kirti Sheonarain, Founder and Co-Chair of the Women Entrepreneur Awards, said:

“We are excited to have Bank One onboard for this year’s Women Entrepreneur Awards as we prepare for our workshops and networking events in the run up to the finals. We truly appreciate Bank One’s commitment to being at the forefront of supporting women entrepreneurs. We are looking forward to our collaboration with their SME Banking team, which has a clear focus and understanding of the challenges faced by women entrepreneurs and how these can be addressed.”

Sharing her views on the contribution to be made by Bank One, Samantha Seewoosurrun, Co-Chair of Women Entrepreneur Awards, added:

“Being part of the Women Entrepreneur Awards is not only about prizes but about building a supportive ecosystem which can help women entrepreneurs to flourish. We are thrilled to welcome Bank One into our community, where we are convinced that their team will offer valuable insights and guidance on how to navigate the financial aspects of their businesses, which is a vital component of future growth and success.”

The deadline for applications for the Women Entrepreneur Awards is 20 July 2024.
