The Mauritius Africa Fintech Hub (MAFH) is inviting stakeholders to contribute to the development of the National Fintech Strategy for Mauritius through a stakeholder survey which closes on 2 February 2025.
As part of an initiative commissioned by UNECA for the Ministry of Financial Services & Good Governance, the Mauritius Africa Fintech Hub (MAFH) is running a national research exercise and is seeking insights from key stakeholders to shape the future of fintech in Mauritius.
The surveys are tailored for:
- Fintech Operators: Share your views on challenges and opportunities in the fintech ecosystem.
- Financial Service Providers & Business Operators: Contribute insights on trends, challenges, and opportunities.
- Consumers: Provide feedback on your experiences with financial technology services as a user in everyday life.
Commenting on the survey, Benazeer Saidoo, CEO of the Mauritius Africa Fintech Hub, said:
“The United Nations Economic Commission has been supporting the Government of Mauritius, through the Ministry of Financial Services and Good Governance with the development of a National Fintech Strategy to enable the positioning of the country as a Fintech Hub for the African continent. At MAFH, we have been appointed as a consultant to take the lead on the consultation process locally. The inputs received to the survey will directly impact upon the development of a national strategy that will support innovation, competitiveness, and growth.“
“These surveys are designed to capture perspectives on fintech-related policies, business challenges, and opportunities. For Fintech operators, getting their insights would be crucial to ensuring that the national strategy reflects their most pressing needs. For financial and business sectors operators, this could ensure we capture priorities of their relevant sectors in how Fintech could support their growth. Last but not least, the survey for consumers would help us with insights into how well Fintech is understood locally, which could lead to the review or creation of solutions that could benefit our population as a whole,” she added.
