The Indian High Commission held a briefing session to the intention of ICCR Scholars having successfully been selected for the award of scholarship under the ICCR’s Africa Scholarship Scheme. The event took place on Tuesday, September 20 where it was held by the Deputy High Commissioner Mr. Vimarsh Aryan and First Secretary and officials of the education section Mr. Ankush Kapoor.
In the academic year 2022-23, the ICCR has offered 65 seats under the Africa Scholarship Scheme for Mauritius, encompassing Rodrigues where the scholarship is offered to the intention of Undergraduate, Postgraduate, M.Phil and Ph.D. levels spanning across Engineering, Science, Commerce, Humanities.
For this year, 59 students were eligible, for which they have been offered scholarships by various Indian universities and a few of them have already joined their courses while the rest will soon be on their way.
Chief and Head of the Governor’s office, Bank of Mauritius and ICCR Alumni Dheeraj Raghoobur was present virtually where he shared his Indian experience and urged scholars to make the best of the opportunity offered to study in the country.
During the interactive session, past recipients of scholarship shared their experience with freshers to help guide them while the present scholars raised various queries pertaining to travel, stay and documentation that was duly answered by the HC team.
