Digitalgo announces investment by Seed Capital, participation in Turbine accelerator programme

Digitalgo has joined the accelerator programme of the Turbine incubator since January 2025, following a strategic investment worth Rs 5,000,000 spearheaded by Seed Capital, thus enabling the start-up to benefit at the same time from an intensive follow-up and necessary resources in supporting its growth.

Digitalgo is an innovative Mauritian solution specialized in local online advertising, which aims to transform the digital landscape in Mauritius and beyond. Founded in 2022, it offers a digital advertising solution designed to meet the specific needs of the local market. It connects advertisers to audiences via a network of exclusively Mauritian websites, while allowing publishers and content creators to better monetize their traffic. Digitalgo’s objective is twofold: to relocalise digital advertising investments now dominated by major international platforms, and to support the growth of the local digital economy.

Digitalgo offers advertisers a real-time campaign management system, built according to international programmatic standards but optimized for local market performance. It allows precise targeting of audiences, billing based on real visibility and instant access to performance data. For publishers and content creators, the platform provides monetization channels that are easy to set up, fully transparent, and designed to maximize revenue without compromising the user experience. By combining international-level advertising capabilities with a perfect understanding of the Mauritian media landscape, Digitalgo seeks to ensure measurable results, security for brands, and the maintenance of advertising investments within the local economy.

“We have chosen to adapt the best global practices tailored to the local reality where the ambition of Digitalgo is clear: Proposing a local solution, efficient and accessible, suiting the specificities of our market. It goes through a simplified interface: an optimized algorithm logic and a model entirely designed in local rupee. The entire value chain is local based: campaigns are created in a smooth manner, advertisements broadcast on an exclusively Mauritian network where publishers benefit from better revenue, 1000 impressions on the back of a system, involving fewer intermediaries. Digital advertising remains the foundation on which the free web is based. However, in a small market like ours, international solutions do not offer Mauritius sites the benefits to monetize traffic at a satisfactory level. The worst part is that a large part of the digital advertising takes flight away from the local economy to benefit foreign giants. Through Digitalgo, we want to create a trend reversal: to ensure that an increasing share of these investments remain and flow on the local shores while offering local websites and content creators a free, simple, and fast solution to generate income,” commented Julien Gonnin, Founder and CEO of Digitalgo.

The investment made by Seed Capital in Digitalgo forms part of a strategic logic. For Seed Capital, the investment is not limited to financial support but represents a long-term commitment to help support innovative advertising technology, suited to local needs, where the aim is to help strengthen the technological capacity of the start-up to accelerate its growth and set the foundation for regional development.

At Capital, we are looking for scalable companies capable of filling a clear gap in the market. Digitalgo has distinguished itself by its ability to offer cutting-edge advertising technology while finely integrating local needs. This investment goes beyond the simple financial dimension: it is a strategic commitment to build a stronger and more autonomous Mauritian digital ecosystem,” said Fabrice Boullé, Director of Seed Capital and member of Digitalgo’s Board of Directors.

The Director of Seed Capital added, “With the support of Turbine and the focused leadership of its team, we are convinced that Digitalgo will not only meet the current needs of advertisers and publishers but will also set a new benchmark in terms of innovative advertising in the region”.

For her part, Turbine CEO Diane Maigrot said, “The investment made by Seed Capital in Digitalgo and its integration into the accelerator programme fully embodies the role that Turbine wishes to play in the local ecosystem: identify, structure, and grow projects with high potential in making local impact. Digitalgo is an ambitious start-up, positioned in a strategic segment, that of online advertising, by providing a local solution to a model today largely dominated by international platforms. Our mission is to encourage collaborations between innovative start-ups and established companies, and to create the conditions for local innovation to find its place in the Mauritian economy.”

Digitalgo’s fundraising with Seed Capital was a decisive step that will allow it to improve its technology, increase its team and strengthen its market share. The start-up aims to consolidate 5% of the local digital advertising market, while preparing its regional expansion through the development of partnerships in Africa and other emerging markets.
