The Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to Mauritius, Mr Goran Vujičić, presented yesterday morning, his credentials to the President of the Republic of Mauritius, Mr. Prithvirajsing Roopun, at the State House in Réduit.
In a statement after his meeting with the President, Mr Vujičić said that it an honour for him to present his credentials as the first Serbian Ambassador to Mauritius. According to him, this event is laden with deep historic significance, while stressing that as underlined by President Roopun, Mauritius and Serbia already share long-standing and cordial relations.
Furthermore, Ambassador Vujičić pointed out that he discussed with the President the existing multilateral cooperation between the two countries as well as the need to balance the political and economic relations for common future endeavours.
He added that ways to boost and improve the bilateral relations were also evoked during the meeting and that it was agreed that there is a vast potential for cooperation between Mauritius and Serbia. We also defined areas for further cooperation which will be enabled by the mutual commitment from both parties, he highlighted.
Prior to his meeting with President Roopun, Ambassador Vujičić presented his Copie d’Usage to the Secretary for Foreign Affairs, Mr Haymandoyal Dillum, in Port-Louis. Later in the afternoon, he also called on the Minister of Land Transport and Light Rail, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and International Trade, Mr. Alan Ganoo.
