Cim Finance launches its Cashback Credit Card

Cim Finance has taken a new step in the world of credit cards with the launch of its Cashback Credit Card, developed in partnership with Mastercard. It was launched at an event held at La Galerie Du Génie in Port-Louis on Wednesday 12 November, in the presence of Dr. the Hon. Jyoti Jeetun, Minister of Financial Services and Economic Planning, as guest of honour.

Modern, advantageous and centred on added value, this new card replaces the Titanium Card by offering a more rewarding, simple and transparent payment experience. It becomes the first credit card in Mauritius to offer cashback with no cap across all spending categories, an innovation aligned with Cim Finance’s commitment to making finance more practical, inclusive and connected to the daily realities of Mauritians.

A strategic and differentiated positioning

The Mauritian credit card market counts between 200,000 and 300,000 cards in circulation but remains stable. The Cashback Credit Card stands out for its simplicity and transparency, bringing value to essential payment categories such as groceries and fuel, which are often excluded from traditional offers. This launch forms part of Cim Finance’s strategy to strengthen financial inclusion and encourage the adoption of digital solutions while bringing real daily value.

“With the Cashback Credit Card, we want to transform the perception of credit cards in Mauritius. It is no longer just a payment tool, but a partner supporting our customers in their daily transactions, with simplicity, transparency and added value. This launch reflects our commitment to democratising access to modern and inclusive financial solutions, while strengthening the use of digital tools that prioritise trust and security,” said Ambrish Maharahaje, Group CEO of Cim Finance.

Essential benefits

The Cashback Credit Card offers 1% cashback with no cap on payments made in key categories such as groceries, fuel, pharmacies, clinics, restaurants and bars. The cashback is automatically credited each month to the card account, with no action required from the customer.

Cardholders also benefit from four free airport lounge accesses per year when purchasing airline tickets using the card, as well as access to Mastercard Priceless experiences and exclusive partner offers. The monthly fee is automatically waived when the cardholder makes Rs 20,000 or more in purchases in a single month.

Cim Finance, a principal member of Mastercard, is the only non-banking financial institution in Mauritius authorised to issue credit cards. Cim Finance cardholders benefit from up to 45 days of interest-free credit, as well as exclusive advantages such as airport lounge access, partner offers and a full range of value-added services.

With the MoFinans app, customers can easily monitor their available limits, check due payments, make online payments, and block or unblock their card at any moment.
