TIBOK takes Mauritian innovation to the Startup World Cup 2026 in San Francisco

TIBOK, a startup incubated at La Turbine, is reaching a new milestone in its development. Having won the Startup World Cup Mauritius 2026 regional final on 24 September, the Mauritian startup will travel to San Francisco from 4 to 6 November to represent Mauritius at the competition’s world final. There, it will compete against winners from 90 countries and pitch its project to more than 2,500 international investors.

For TIBOK, this is an opportunity to showcase on the global stage a digital health solution developed 100% in Mauritius. Supported by the La Turbine incubator, the startup aims to demonstrate that a locally designed solution can address healthcare challenges while attracting the interest of international innovation and investment players.

“The entire TIBOK team is extremely proud to represent Mauritius in San Francisco next month as a Mauritian startup. This is an important milestone for us, as it allows us to present beyond our borders a solution that was conceived, developed and driven from Mauritius. Our ambition has always been to show that we can build technology solutions here that address major challenges, particularly in healthcare, while having the potential to make their mark internationally. Being in San Francisco is both a recognition of the journey so far and an opportunity to raise awareness of TIBOK, our technology and our team’s expertise on an international stage. We are proud to carry this Mauritian ambition and to show that a startup born in Mauritius can also have an international vision and ambition,” said TIBOK founder Dr Stéphane Bach.

A digital health solution designed in Mauritius

TIBOK is developing a digital health platform built around My Medical Intelligence, its clinical artificial intelligence engine. The solution goes beyond teleconsultation: it supports patients at different stages of their care journey.

The platform provides access to teleconsultation, chronic disease monitoring, specialist referral and second medical opinions. It also includes a module for tracking blood pressure, blood glucose and weight, with alerts designed to flag changes that may require particular attention.

TIBOK is also interconnected with part of Mauritius’s private healthcare ecosystem, including pharmacies, laboratories, imaging services, clinic emergency departments and insurers.

The platform currently operates with Mauritian doctors registered with the Medical Council of Mauritius, reinforcing the project’s local roots as the startup prepares to present its expertise in San Francisco.

TIBOK also features Eva, an AI-powered virtual assistant available in Mauritian Creole, French and English. Eva guides users through the platform and can provide information on the services offered.

From La Turbine to San Francisco

La Turbine’s support has helped structure the project and guide its development. For TIBOK, this support is part of a journey that has taken it to the Startup World Cup regional final and now to the world final in San Francisco.

The startup will represent Mauritius alongside winners from around the world, with the opportunity to present its project to international investors and technology ecosystem players. Four members of the TIBOK team will travel to San Francisco. To make this participation possible, the startup is currently seeking strategic partners and supporters to help fund the delegation’s travel, accommodation and presence on site.

“It is a great source of pride to see a startup supported in Mauritius reach a level that allows it to represent the country on an international stage such as San Francisco. Beyond TIBOK, this is also a positive signal for Mauritian entrepreneurship. We have entrepreneurs in Mauritius developing innovative solutions that address real-world problems and aspire to position themselves beyond the local market. Seeing these projects progress through these stages and gain access to international opportunities shows that our entrepreneurial ecosystem has great potential. This is precisely what we aim to encourage at La Turbine: helping entrepreneurs structure their projects, grow in maturity and, above all, create the connections and seize the opportunities that can take them to the next stage. TIBOK’s success is a fine illustration of what Mauritian entrepreneurship can achieve when it is supported and dares to aim higher,” concluded Swarna Gujadhur, Head of Operations at La Turbine.
