The meeting focused on strengthening performance, enhancing collaboration while at the same time aligning strategic priorities for the coming financial year. It provided a platform for a structured review of performance over the past financial year, the presentation of key priorities and performance targets for the year ahead, and discussions on the challenges and opportunities facing the financial services sector.

She also lauded a ministry mission that flew to New Delhi last February and the personal intervention of the Prime Minister of Mauritius, it was obtained that these investments are not affected by the provisions of the General Anti-Avoidance Rule (GAAR).
In addition, the ministry shone bright by showing its mettle in the way it responded to the geopolitical tensions in the Middle East that were triggered in February of this year. Several essential measures have been established to redirect financial flows and re-domicile entities in the region. Finally, the Vision 2050 project, the largest national consultation undertaken in Mauritius.
The key achievements spearheaded by the Ministry include the selection of Mauritius as the host country of the first African Credit Rating Agency (AfCRA), following an evaluation carried out by the African Peer Review Mechanism. According to the Ministry, it constitutes a significant recognition of the credibility of local institutions at the continental level.
Looking ahead, Dr Jeetun outlined the priorities of the Ministry for the coming financial year, which include the consolidation of ongoing reforms and the strengthening of key initiatives across the financial services ecosystem. She urged all departments to ensure timely execution of projects, effective planning of activities and continuous monitoring of progress in order to meet set targets.
Moreover, she encouraged open communication and collaboration across all teams and stated that the townhall meeting was intended to promote a two-way exchange of views and ensure alignment with the strategic objectives of the Ministry for the year ahead.
“I am particularly proud of the team spirit that unites us, where I repose immense value and faith in every one of you. This is what allows us to achieve our objectives and produce results on time and in accordance with the expected level of quality. Our institutions are run by competent professionals. We will continue to recognize and value the efforts of our employees. I encourage you to come up with solutions, defend your ideas and continue to actively contribute to the transformation of our ministry,” commented Dr. Jyoti Jeetun.
