Compliance, Governance & Risk Management for Sustainable Business Growth

Harel Mallac Technologies, a leading Technology Integrator in Mauritius and East Africa, hosted an exclusive forum on Cybersecurity and its impacts on Governance and Sustainability of Businesses. with effective Data Protection and Compliance strategies as a key & growing priority for decision makers.

This event was organised with the participation of Harel Mallac Technology’s international Technology partners Thales, Checkpoint, Trend Micro and Microsoft.In his opening speech, Mr Antoine L Harel, Chairman of the Harel Mallac Group,emphasised on Harel Mallac Technologies’ contribution and investment in innovative ideas and concepts which will help Mauritius champion major breakthroughs in different emerging
technology fields.

He further highlighted that “Cyber Resilience is becoming more and more the topmost priority for any senior executive or board of any organisation when it comes to Business Continuity & Sustainability. As digital technologies would pervade broader in our day-to-day lives and business environments, new technologies like AI, Robotics & Automation would emerge at an accelerated speed, the more risks around data and integrity of information would organisations face. We can also see how data has become the “new gold” for
businesses and governments.”

The Minister of Information Technology, Communication and Innovation,Honourable Deepak Balgobin delivered a keynote address on the growing concerns around cyber threats and the importance of harnessing the collective ideas and wisdom of likeminded experts, as key to enhancing Cybersecurity. The Minister further stated that “Now is the time for us to take even more bold steps in cybersecurity to make sure that we are prepared, resilient and capable of responding to potential online aggressors. I congratulate our private sector partners for having strengthened your cyber defences by implementing the best practices developed over the last years”.

The Minister congratulated Harel Mallac Technologies on hosting this forum and highlighted that this is “testimony of the drive by the private sector to further enhance our eco-system and to work in close collaboration with public & private stakeholders to better position
Mauritius on the international cyberspace.”

The Minister’s keynote was followed by a panel discussion around the resiliency and protection of organisations’ Data in the Cyberspace with the participation of representatives of strategic stakeholders from the Bank of Mauritius, Data Protection Office, Financial Services Commission, Ministry of ICT and the Mauritius Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

The forum was enhanced by presentations from the international partners who did an expose of innovative & high end technology solutions to enable operators build a secure, resilient and compliant business model for sustainable business growth.Mr Shateeaum Sewpaul, General Manager of Harel Mallac Technologies concluded the event and highlighted that “Today’s event demonstrates Harel Mallac Technologies relentless effort when it comes to paving the way for technology adoption and innovation. Cybersecurity, compliance and governance of data within organisations are clearly very high on the agenda.
