Andrey & Julia Dashin’s Foundation proudly marked a defining milestone in its journey of purpose with the official launch of the TWA Pu Lavenir Initiative (Train. Work. Achieve.), during a prestigious Gala Dinner held at Château Mon Désir, Maritim Resort & Spa, Balaclava on Friday, 24 October 2025.
The event gathered a distinguished audience of government leaders, institutional heads, captains of industry, and civil society partners, all united in their commitment to youth empowerment, social inclusion, and sustainable development.
The evening was graced by the presence of:
• The Honourable Minister of Labour and Industrial Relations, Mr Muhammad Reza Cassam Uteem
• The Honourable Junior Minister of Finance, Mr Dhaneshwar Damry
• Her Excellency, Permanent Delegate of the Republic of Mauritius to UNESCO, Mrs Jasmine Toulouse-Olivier, alongside senior advisors and representatives from the Ministries of Education and Human Resource, Gender Equality and Family Welfare, and Finance.
In his keynote address, Mr Andrey Dashin, Founder of Andrey & Julia Dashin’s Foundation, described the programme as both a landmark initiative and a driving force for social progress:
“More than a decade ago, my wife Julia and I began our charitable journey rooted in a simple yet powerful belief — that compassion must be accompanied by action. Here in Mauritius, we have found not only a second home, but a renewed mission: to empower young people with dignity, skills, and opportunity.
TWA Pu Lavenir is more than a programme — it is a lasting movement — one that redefines futures, uplifts communities, and ensures that young Mauritians have the freedom to succeed. Regardless of their circumstances, they deserve a chance to learn, work, and achieve. Through structured vocational training, supervised internships, and mentorship opportunities, we are supporting each young participant in transitioning from vulnerability to talent and from uncertainty to self-reliance, turning hope into real prospects.
As we launch the first cohort of fifty participants, our Foundation is proud to lead by example — fully supporting their journey from classroom to fostering professional skills and pathways toward independent adulthood. We warmly invite our esteemed partners and friends to join us in these meaningful efforts by providing internship placements, funding future cohorts, or offering professional coaching and mentorship. Together, we can turn potential into purpose and aspiration into achievement to ensure that no young dream is left behind.”
The TWA Pu Lavenir Initiative
The TWA Pu Lavenir Initiative is a national 12-month training and internship programme designed for young people supported by registered NGOs and residential care institutions across Mauritius. Participants receive professional training, paid internship placements in the hospitality sector, mentorship, and employment opportunities for successful candidates.
Enrolment for the first intake will run until the end of the year, with the programme starting in mid-January 2026.
As a model for long-term social impact, the initiative closely aligns with Mauritius’ vision for inclusive growth, decent work, and poverty alleviation, while also advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). By mobilising public-private partnerships, the programme addresses youth unemployment, intergenerational poverty, and skills gaps in a sustainable and scalable way.
A Legacy of Social Commitment
With more than a decade of initiatives in Cyprus and Mauritius, Andrey & Julia Dashin’s Foundation has continuously championed education, healthcare, environmental stewardship, child welfare, and poverty alleviation. The launch of TWA Pu Lavenir marks its most ambitious effort in Mauritius, setting the tone for a national movement of inclusion and empowerment.
To close the launch week of the initiative, the day following the Gala Dinner saw the Foundation host a joyful Fun Dayfor children from one of the NGOs at Rêve d’R in Petit Raffray. The event offered a day of laughter, games, and creativity — including outdoor activities, crafts, live entertainment, lunch, and gift distribution — all in a safe and nurturing environment. This initiative reflects the Foundation’s commitment to youth well-being beyond training and employment by also fostering joy and inclusion.
