Alludo Sets out Ambitious Recruitment Plans in Mauritius, Connects with the Students at University of Technology

Meeting students at the University of Technology, Alludo’s SVP of Product & Program Management, Kamal Srinivasan shared the company’s vision for Mauritius as its Centre of Excellence in Africa and its plans to recruit locally for customer support, research & development (R&D), and operations roles.

As announced on September 13, 2022, Corel has undergone a rebrand including a new name: Alludo™. A global leader in professional creativity and productivity solutions, the company launched its operations in Ebene, Mauritius in the summer of 2022. Sharing its vision for Mauritius as its Centre of Excellence in Africa and its ambitious recruitment plans, Mr. Kamal Srinivasan, SVP Product & Program Management at Alludo, addressed students at an event with the University of Technology on July 25.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Srinivasan commented, “When choosing Mauritius as the home for our Center of Excellence, its favourable business environment with its great talent pool and rich university community moved the needle for us. We quickly realised that Mauritius was a strategically important location to expand and strengthen our team and product offerings, enabling us to better serve our global customers.”

Mr. Srinivasan added that the company will be hiring staff in Mauritius at different levels and across a range of functions including technical support, R&D, and operations. He also highlighted that each time the company’s leadership is visiting Mauritius, they are interacting with universities on the island. He said that he understood how important it is to “start the journey early on with the students and with the universities. It is a terrific talent pool and an important partnership.” To date, Alludo has hired approximately 70 employees locally and continues to recruit for more than 100 positions.

During his visit to the University of Technology, Mauritius (UTM), Mr. Srinivasan also had the opportunity to meet the representatives from the School of Innovative Technologies and Engineering, including Dr. Shireen Panchoo, Head of School, together with Mr. Loovesh Ramwodin and Mr. Hansraj Seegobin, Lecturers from the Department of Business Information and Software Engineering. Mr. Srinivasan and the university representatives discussed various avenues of potential collaboration including student internship programs for UTM students. UTM students are normally placed in companies for a period of at least 10 weeks where they have the opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge to solve real-world problems and to work within the organizational structure of the company. Moreover, both parties were keen on setting up an Alludo Lab where students will have the opportunity to work with Alludo’s software offerings. Additionally, short courses, programmes, and research projects are in the future pipeline.

Alludo offers employees a unique people-first work environment that stands out in the world of tech companies. Alludo is inviting candidates in Mauritius to apply for roles in customer support, research and development (R&D), and operations working across its four leading brands, Parallels®, Corel®, MindManager®, and WinZip®.

Alludo will be building, maintaining, and supporting its state-of-the-art technology and world-class products in Mauritius, boosting the local economy and tech community. Alludo is keen to innovate for the next generation of creative, collaborative, and productivity solutions in Mauritius, serving global markets and customers. Furthermore, its portfolio of internationally recognised brands gives people the opportunity to rethink how they work and drive productivity.

Alludo is working with Bolt Talent Solutions, a global recruitment consultancy incorporated in both Mauritius and Seattle, for driving the recruitment efforts in Mauritius.

Vanessa Flynn, Chief Executive Officer and Founder at Bolt Talent Solutions said, “We are proud to be partnering with Alludo as their exclusive recruitment process outsourcing partner in Mauritius. This is an extremely exciting time for the information and communications technology (ICT) sector in Mauritius.
