TECH TOGETHER 2024: 2nd SUCCESSFUL EDITION

Mauritius Africa Fintech Hub (MAFH) and Graines de Boss Indian Ocean brought together 120 decision-makers and 45 young enterprises with the support of AfrAsia Bank.

MAFH (Mauritius Africa Fintech Hub) and Graines de Boss Indian Ocean, under the sponsorship of AfrAsia Bank, organized the 2nd edition of Tech Together at Suites – by the Docks 2, in Port Louis, on Thursday, March 28th. 40 investors/financiers, 40 experts, 35 mentors/corporates, and 5 institutions were engaged with the 45 enthusiastic and motivated young enterprises to integrate into this high-level network to find immediate solutions.

This event stands out by bringing together the entire entrepreneurial ecosystem of both tech and non-tech sectors of Mauritius: connecting decision-makers and experts to generate opportunities for these young enterprises during and after the event. Two of them were already present at the first edition and have shown significant progress.

It was a great opportunity for all to better understand terms such as ‘Tech’, ‘Fintech’, and ‘Artificial Intelligence’, which now define the daily operations and development of businesses. This was emphasized by Marc Alexandre Masnin, Head of Investment Solutions at AfrAsia Bank, who is heavily involved in staying at the forefront of these innovative topics while maintaining a privileged and personalized approach.

This initiative celebrates a complementary alliance between the network created by Graines de Boss in Mauritius (55 mentors, 55 young enterprises), which evaluates and supports enterprises through its network, and MAFH, focused on Fintech, emerging as a rapidly developing sector in response to the dynamism of the industry.

On March 28th, the event revolved around the ‘stand-ups’ of 11 young enterprises with high potential and highly productive networking sessions. These Mauritian entrepreneurial leaders were surprised by the quality and variety of their offerings.

The response from young enterprises was immediate: solutions were found across various aspects, including approaches for project financing. For decision-makers, investors, and experts, it was an opportunity to engage with initiatives and offer their support. This strengthens the purpose of this gathering and fully serves the synergy of the organizers.

This is precisely the mission of Graines de Boss Indian Ocean (www.grainesdeboss.com/mauritius), which brings together and energizes a network on its platform between mentors/executive experts and young enterprises and provides access to 3,000 contacts and potential sources in France. Events reinforce contacts and enrich the range of solutions offered. Financial partners are essential for growth, a quest emphasized by Jean-Baptiste Salmon, its Director, to consolidate its success in Mauritius and expand into the Indian Ocean. Tech Together provided an opportunity for this.

MAFH now brings together 30 members, including several Fintechs, combining Mauritian and African enterprises, supported by 20 partners: another success story in less than two years, demonstrating the momentum of the sector and the successful model of bringing together finance actors to support entrepreneurs.

All stakeholders have pledged to meet again next year at the same time for a third edition, the best evaluation an event can receive.
