The University of Law (ULaw), one of the UK’s longest-established specialist legal education providers, has successfully concluded its high-profile faculty visit to Mauritius. Headlined by Jacqueline Cheltenham, National Programme and Student Affairs Director for the BPC at the University, the two-day engagement provided local students with practical exposure, intensive advocacy training, and direct guidance on qualifying for the UK Bar.
The visit kicked off with a comprehensive student and selection event hosted at Middlesex University Mauritius. Prospective law students participated in an exclusive Advocacy Masterclass led by Ms Cheltenham, followed by interactive Q&A sessions focusing on the nuances of studying law in the UK and mapping out a sustainable career at the Bar. The day also featured enhanced selection workshops, including advocacy assessments and individual interviews for candidates aspiring to secure their places on the programme.
Following the student-centric sessions, the delegation engaged with local media and key stakeholders to discuss the evolving landscape of international legal education and the robust pathways available to Mauritian graduates.
