Mauritius will play host to the prestigious Cryptoverse Summit on 15 May 2024, at the Intercontinental Hotel in Balaclava, organised by Wakanda 4.0. This Summit is expected to be a pivotal event for global and local stakeholders in the cryptocurrency and blockchain industries. Jessica Naga, CEO of the MINDEX Group, highlighted the strategic advancements Mauritius has made in the regulatory domain. “Mauritius has not only set a precedent with its regulatory frameworks but has also created an ecosystem that nurtures crypto enterprises to thrive,” Naga explained. She continued, “Our efforts have led to an environment that not only draws but also retains international investments, making Mauritius a model for other nations aiming to enter the cryptosphere.”

Michael Haynes of Lima Capital LLC shared his perspective on the Summit’s significance. “This Summit underscores Mauritius’ commitment to leading the charge in the crypto and blockchain revolution. It’s a prime showcase for the island’s regulatory and business-friendly environment,” said Haynes.

Tawheen Choomka from the LexCorp Training Institute emphasized the critical role of education in fostering industry growth. “By integrating advanced training programs, workshops, and seminars, we are preparing our workforce to navigate and lead in the fintech sector. This proactive educational approach ensures that Mauritius remains at the cutting edge of fintech education and continues to attract top talent and investment,” Choomka remarked. He added, “Our focus on education is about building a sustainable and innovative financial ecosystem that can adapt to future challenges and opportunities.”

Adrien Wehli from the Mauritius Switzerland Chamber of Commerce and Industry discussed the strategic importance of international partnerships. “Our collaborations extend beyond borders, enhancing our capabilities and fostering knowledge exchange, which is pivotal for innovation and growth in the fintech space,” Wehli noted. He elaborated, “These partnerships are not just about business growth but also about cultural exchange and creating a globally integrated financial technology ecosystem that benefits all stakeholders involved.”

Loic Chollet-Vergé, CEO of Warwyck Private Bank, elaborated on their pioneering efforts in crypto finance. “Warwyck Private Bank is not only the sole pure private bank in Mauritius but also a pioneer in creating a crypto fund to provide our clients a safe introduction to crypto investments.
